Old Tech, Contemporary Sensibilities! LomographyĆ¢€™s LomoĆ¢€™Instant Square

Thanks to technology, the world as we know it is changing daily. We see updates and upgrades often on our smart devices, and we regularly see new designs and innovations in the tech world that peak our interest. Today the good folks over at Lomography are back with their latest camera design that features some unique technology and an old school design. Lomography's Lomo'Instant Square is an entirely analog instant camera that offers up a broad range of features.

The Lomo'Instant Square features a 95mm glass lens and rocks automatic mode and smart zone auto-focusing, taking care of shutter speed, flash output, focusing and more. We also find signature Lomography features such as unlimited multiple exposures, a bulb mode for long exposures, an infrared remote control, a self-timer and stacks. The camera features a foldable design that takes back to the classic models of the golden era of photography. Have a look at the new design right here, right now and give us your thoughts in the comments. Stay tuned for much more from Lomography coming soon.

Infrared California Landscape Photography

Kate Ballis, a photographer who's based out of Melbourne, Australia, traveled to the United States to capture the state of California in a dreamlike manner.

The images that result from the project are highly surreal, with Ballis' infrared technique transforming the typically green and brown landscapes to be bright hues of purple, pink and red. The photographer explained the inspiration behind the project by saying, "I am fascinated with unseen energy and am excited to create work that catches a glimpse of a world that exists just outside human perception, like a memory you can't quite pinpoint."

Throughout the project, Ballis focuses on the state's sprawling desert views, as well as the poolside resorts that decorate much of it.

66 Breathtaking Examples of Infrared Photography with Surreal Colours

Infrared photography is typically used to create black and white pictures of landscapes that feature incredible detail, sometimes with a dreamlike glow. When infrared images are processed using film such as Kodak's Aerochrome series however, the shot is reproduced with false-colour, where the reds, greens and blues are reversed. The result is a surreal scene where elements such as trees and foliage appear as a vibrant pink, which often looks like the photograph was taken on another planet! Digital photographs can be post-processed using a variety of methods that offer different looks, but the false-colour aesthetic is still a favourite among photographers. In today's showcase I present a range of breathtaking examples of infrared photography with surreal colours.
